Caregivers need help, too
Leona and Leon | Caregivers united | How to cope | Get help
After her husband had two strokes following a car accident in 2002, Leona Laper helped restart the Golden Rule Stroke Support Group at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis. The group, which had dwindled to a half-dozen members, now has about 80.
The group meets 1 p.m. every fourth Sunday at JFK Medical Center, 5301 S. Congress Ave., in conference rooms 1 and 2. For more information, call Laper at 561-488-3861. Or, to find a stroke support group near you, check with your local hospital.
In this video, members of the Golden Rule support group share their experiences caring for their spouses.
