Saunders powers Eagles over Tigers

Senior guard Kaneisha Saunders had 29 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and seven steals as host Atlantic defeated Ely 80-59 Friday night in a game matching up two of the top girls' basketball teams in South Florida.

Senior point guard Sasha Bernard added 25 points.

The Eagles (7-2) took the lead for good in the second quarter by outscoring Ely 23-8. They led 39-22 at halftime.

Senior guard Joanna Harden led the Tigers (5-1) with team-highs of 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
