Madonna denies relationship with A-Rod
Singer Madonna yesterday denied reports linking her romantically to Yankees third-basement Alex Rodriguez, her first statement since reports of an affair with the slugger first emerged last week.
In a statement sent to People magazine, the Kabbalah-practicing singer said, "My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study."
In recent front page stories, family and friends of A-Rod's wife, Cynthia, blamed the Material Girl for causing havoc in the Rodriguez marriage. A-Rod reportedly had been spotted leaving Madonna's Central Park West apartment.
Meanwhile, Cynthia Rodriguez is expected to file for divorce in Miami today, wnbc.com reported.
Other reports have put Madonna's marriage to film director Guy Ritchie on the rocks.
