Dillard High will open today as usual, with grief counselors available to students and staff
Today at Dillard High
Dillard High School will be open as usual. No additional security is planned, although grief counselors will be on campus for the rest of the week to talk to students and staff about Wednesday's shooting and Amanda Collette's death, said district spokesman Keith Bromery. It will be up to Dillard High administrators to determine whether to hold an assembly in Collette's memory, Bromery said.
Unofficial memorials already were in the works Wednesday, just hours after the shooting. Students said as they left school that text messages were circulating, urging them to wear black in Collette's memory.
